Unlocking Team Synergy in the Sun-soaked Shores of Cyprus

Welcome to a workplace where bonds are forged under the sun, and teamwork knows no bounds.

We are on a constant journey to build not just a team but a community, and our recent team-building retreat in the landscapes of Cyprus was nothing short of magical. Over four sun-kissed days, we blended work and play, creating memories that will linger long after the Mediterranean sunsets.

Bonding Beyond Borders:
Our team came together for a unique bonding experience. We ventured beyond office walls, allowing camaraderie to flourish under the Cypriot sun.

Relaxation and Reflection:
In Cyprus, we found the perfect setting for relaxation and reflection. Whether unwinding by the pool, strolling through historic streets, or simply enjoying the local cuisine, every moment was a chance to rejuvenate.

Balancing Work and Play:
While the focus was on building connections, we also managed to infuse a dash of productivity. Work sessions were dynamic and collaborative, benefitting from the fresh perspectives that only a change of scenery can offer.

Creating Lasting Connections:
The retreat wasn't just a professional journey; it was an opportunity to discover the unique qualities that make each team member an integral part of our collective success. Laughter, shared experiences, and a touch of friendly competition solidified the bonds that make our team extraordinary.

Cyprus, with its rich history and warm hospitality, provided the canvas for our team to paint memories that will shape our collaborative spirit for years to come. As we return to our daily business, the echoes of Cyprus will resonate in our teamwork, making every challenge conquerable and every success sweeter.

Finance by Day, Lifeguard by Sunset

Greetings, fellow readers! Today, I am excited to share with you an extraordinary chapter of my life where I embarked on a journey that took me beyond the realm of finance. I'm Danilo, a student of economics, junior finance accountant, and for some time I found myself on American soil, working remotely for FinTrust Partners. The twist? I took on not one, but two roles simultaneously—diving into the diverse world of finance while also doing the lifeguard's job for a 14-hour workday.

The decision to dive in:

The idea of working as a lifeguard alongside my role as a junior finance accountant was certainly unconventional, but I believe that stepping out of our comfort zones is where true growth happens. The decision to take on this dual responsibility was fueled by a desire for new experiences and a chance to challenge myself in unfamiliar waters.

Juggling a 14-hour workday between working with numbers and keeping an eye on the pool was quite challenging. Mornings were dedicated to working with spreadsheets, budget analyses, and financial reports, while evenings involved switching my computer for a rescue tube. Ensuring the safety of swimmers became a parallel skill to balancing financial statements—both requiring a keen eye for detail and a proactive mindset.

Surprisingly, my experiences as a lifeguard seamlessly intertwined with my finance role. Watching carefully as a lifeguard was a lot like being very accurate when working with finances. Quick decision- making and effective communication, honed during my lifeguard shifts, proved to be assets in the fast-paced world of finance.

To conclude, my time in America was a whirlwind of growth, professionally and personally. Through this blog post, I invite you to consider the unexpected avenues for professional development. Embrace challenges, diversify your experiences, and who knows—you might just find yourself swimming confidently in uncharted waters, armed with the skills of a finance professional and the watchful eye of a lifeguard.

Remote working for nature lovers

It is known that remote workers often report higher levels of job satisfaction due to the flexibility that comes with working from home. In recent years, this concept has gained significant popularity and has become more practical than ever before.

As someone who values a healthy work-life balance, I found that working from a location with a slower pace of life helped me to be more productive and focused during my work hours.

I’ve fully used the benefits of remote working this September. For one month, I was fortunate to spend my time by the sea, enjoying the wonderful sunny days, sea view and sound of waves. I spent my mornings working from my laptop, taking advantage of the peace that comes with being away from the city. I was able to complete my tasks without any distractions or interruptions, which allowed me to enjoy my afternoons and evenings.

In general, the greatest value this concept brought to me is accessibility to nature which has resulted in many health benefits, especially during the winter when I can avoid the negative impacts of air pollution and overcrowding in Belgrade. Being surrounded by nature helped me to feel more relaxed, positive, and motivated when it came time to work again.

In conclusion, it doesn't matter whether I work from home or a beachside apartment, the benefits of remote work are clear: greater flexibility, improved productivity, and the most essential - quality of life overall.
